Clare leads IEEP's work on biodiversity and nature conservation policy, and is based in the Brussels office. She holds undergraduate degrees in law and ecology, and a Masters degree in conservation science. Clare previously worked for government institutions in New Zealand with a focus on border control and biosecurity, eradication of invasive species, and threatened species conservation. She has experience dealing with diverse stakeholders, and has worked on projects in New Zealand related to genetic modification and aerial spraying of urban areas, as well as threatened species management.
