Profile:
Joana Chiavari joined IEEP in May 2007. She graduated in Law and holds a Master Degree from the Scuola Superiore Sant’ Anna di Pisa in Environmental Management and completed a PhD program in Analysis and Governance of Sustainable Development at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice.
She focuses on climate change and energy policy and has been actively involved in assessing and developing CDM projects in several developing countries. Research experience includes carbon dioxide capture and storage, and gas flaring reduction initiatives. Before joining IEEP Joana worked for Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei as part of the climate change policy unit. Joana also took part in training and capacity building initiatives on climate change and sustainable development undertaken in China, under the cooperation of the Chinese and the Italian Governments, and in Brazil.
