Biodiversity is eligible for more support from the EU Budget
The new IEEP and WWF paper reveals that financial contribution to biodiversity from the Community budget remains low. This is particularly alarming as the threats facing biodiversity at the global and European level are escalating and increasing levels of biodiversity and related ecosystem services continue to be lost. There is a need to increase to financing support to actions supporting the conservation of European biodiversity and ecosystems, including to raise the role of biodiversity in the context of the EU Budget reform.
