Assessment of key issues likely to emerge at the COP-MOP meeting on Biodiversity/Biosafety to be held in March 2006 in Curitiba/Brazil

The Environment Committee requested this briefing to inform MEPs who were attending the 8th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 8) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the 3rd meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP/MOP 3), of the issues that were likely to emerge in these two conferences. The briefing is one in a series of eight briefings produced for the European Parliament under a Framework contract led by IEEP.
